RB3 - Bread Factory #2
Walter Eardley vs. Jay Harms

Despite my best efforts, Jay still has The Hat.

We played a very close tense game of Bread Factory #2 on Friday night with Jay's Russians defeating my Germans in the last half turn of the scenario.

Early on it was all Germans. The 9-1 went Berserk on Turn 2 adjacent to a 447 with a captured DC. He took a squad and a half with him in the charge. The 9-1 died to Defensive fire. The 447 and the German squad and a half killed each other in CC. Not a great trade but I had cleared the victory buildings. Jay then proceeded to malf and X his 45L. Malf both his MMGs, his HMG AND his LMGs by turn 3. Every Russian support weapon malfunctioned at one point in time. Only the HMG and one MMG came back. By turn 4, the Germans were in total control with concealed units in the victory buildings. More concealed guys waiting to skulk in and a 9-2 lead 20 line kill stack dominating the approach to the buildings. Things were looking good until I rolled a 5 and the Russian sniper found the German 9-2 and drilled him in the head. The entire stack crumbles and refuses to rally. With out fire support, things were looking grim. In the bottom of the 6th, the Jay broke the last good order squad and sealed the victory.

One of the keys to Jay's victory was trading the 8-1 for a 10-0 commissar. He basically auto rallied anyone who broke for the Russians. Being able to recycle squads so fast was a real advantage.

Over all a very fun game played in under 3 hours. A nice evening of ASL.
